Sometimes, a brand begins with a business plan.
SPRIHA began with a thought.
It was just another day in June 2013, a thought emanated, the thought to coalesce the fetish for watches and gemstones. The realization that a concept like this was rare found; that it would be a perfect exemplification of a timepiece, marked the onset of this eternal idea.
We had no background in the watch industry. No family business to guide us. Just curiosity, conviction and the belief that if you can imagine something, you can find a way to create it.
So, we began.
We studied gemstones, experimented with natural elements and worked closely with our skilled karigars to turn ideas into timepieces. Bringing a jewel band, case and dial together was never easy. Explaining something that had never been made before was harder. There were successes. There were failures. There were moments of doubt. And along the way, we were fortunate to meet mentors and people who believed in our vision and helped us find our way.
On 7 December 2013, SPRIHA was born. Our first collection, Treasure Trove, brought together gemstones, natural stones, kundan, enamel, wood, crystals, bamboo and inspirations from the world around us. We weren’t simply making watches.
We were creating little pieces of wonder that happened to tell time. Thirteen years later, the journey has taught us patience, resilience and, above all, the courage to keep creating.
The dream remains the same: To create in India. To create differently. To create with our hands, our imagination and the skill of our karigars. And one day, to take that spirit from India to the world.
Because SPRIHA was never born from certainty. It was born from a thought we chose to believe in. And perhaps, that is where every beautiful journey begins.
